MY CHILD IS ALMOST 5

We only take kids who are 5 years old

My child is just turned 7 which programme should they attend. We would advise that they attend the Tiny Ballers programme first to see their level of confidence. .

MY CHILD HAS A SIBLING WHO IS 8 AND THEY ARE 12 CAN THEY GO IN THE SAME GROUP

We prefer not to mix age categories it doesn’t benefit either group.

MY CHILD JUST TURNED 12 BUT IS GOING INTO 1ST YEAR

We would encourage all secondary school students to attend Shooters Club at this age. If they are total beginners they may want to try Shooters Academy to learn some fundamentals first.

So this is his/her last year at primary level, some players are competent to try the Shooters Club programme. Have a chat with us and we can gauge if they are ready to go up a level.

We advise you children wear the clothes and footwear they feel most comfortable and confident in.

All members will recieve discount codes for summer activities and camps.

Siblings will receive 10% off once booked under the same booking.

We understand that registering the first time for a term in advance and paying is big commitment. Therefore if after your first two sessions you decided HoopSkool basketball is not for you, we will offer a full refund including the classes you have attended.

For MAMJS this is only possible if we have a waiting list.

If the term has started and we have spaces we can accomodate trials on set weeks. email us to find out when!

Once you have enrolled your child with HoopSkool Basketball, their place will automatically be reserved in the following term. We will send you an email advising you when the new term dates are available to book with plenty of notice before the new term begins. A deadline will be stated in the email of when you need to rebook by, giving you priority before we remove your child from the class and offer the place to someone on the waiting list.

Occasionally, we might take photographs of the children during class, for use in our marketing materials. If you do not want your child to appear, please let the content creator know on the day

As a parent I would highly recommend HOOPSKOOL for any child who wants to play basketball. Players develop excellent basketball and social skills through encouragement and dedication. Coach Gillian is my Covid Hero for bringing basketball online during the Covid Restrictions. She adapted the programmes to ensure all players could continue to train in a safe environment, encouraging positivity and distracting the players from Covid and isolation during the year. Kind regards, Maria & James

I have known Gillian for the last 7 years, since my son started with Hoop Skool, and then my daughter joined a few years later. Coach Gillian and the Hoop Skool family have been fantastic to both of them. Gillian is always so encouraging and shows such a genuine interest in all of the players she coaches. Her enthusiasm knows no bounds and her coaching is informative, fun and full of encouragement. The kids thrive in this environment and in the ups and downs of sport Gillian is always there, giving encouragement and motivating them to keep going. Hoop Skool is also not just about the basketball skills that the players will learn – they also learn lessons in personal development. They are encouraged to take responsibility, to work hard, and hold themselves accountable. Gillian is a natural mentor, and has the ability to effectively communicate with both younger aged kids right up to teenagers! Both my kids hold Gillian in high regard and her opinion is really important to them. I honestly can’t recommend Gillian and the Hoop Skool family highly enough!

Our daughter has been involved in Hoop Skool in the last two years. She has attended all school holiday camps & also Gillian’s small group sessions which she really loves. She looks forward to the camps as they involve endless hours of skills training, but with fellow Hoop Skool friends and amazing guest coaches too. The small group sessions are brilliant as they’re so concentrated..Gillian gives so much feedback..positivity about the things that are being done well & continuous encouragement about those that may need some improvement. Not to mention summer boot camp last year & Friday night live sessions. She attended 3/4 sessions a week during last summer alone !!! In the last two months in particular coach Gillian (and also her super sis coach Shell in Glasgow) have been incredibly engaging. Running 5 zoom sessions weekly between them..our daughter wouldn’t miss them for the world. Over to her words now...’I’d be lost without the zoom sessions..Coach Gill has thought me things I thought I couldn’t do ..she cares for me and my development & she has made me the player that I am today..I’m very grateful for her feedback (and also to Coach Shell too 💕)
